of St. Francis to the Global Stage

Franciscans International represents all Franciscan orders and groups at the United Nations. Sister Denise Boyle is FI’s executive director. A native of Ireland, she belongs to the Franciscan Missionaries of Divine Motherhood. She is also the justice coordinator for the St. Patrick’s Society in Ireland.
Franciscans International works to end world poverty
As a consultative organization in the UN in New York and Geneva, Franciscans International ensures a spiritual dimension to all proceedings, asking tough questions and standing up for those who have no voice. Sponsored by the Conference of the Franciscan Family, Franciscans International injects a humanistic Franciscan approach to what can often become a highly politicized process. It brings Franciscans to the United Nations from their various local ministries around the world to speak about abuses and other horrors that they have witnessed.
