Outside the city walls of Assisi

During their seven days in Italy, participants in the Youth Toward Assisi experience will discover how the Gospel allows us to live a life of joy and fulfillment. They will also explore the values of fraternity, prayer, encounter, and mission - all of which were beautifully embodied by Sts. Francis and Clare. These two natives of Assisi spent their lives reflecting Christ; they were and continue to be a wonderful inspiration not only to the Franciscans organizing Youth Toward Assisi but also to the young people who will flood into this small Umbrian town in not too long a while.

Their busy program is set to include pilgrimages to important Franciscan sites including Rivotorto, the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, and the Cathedral of San Rufino. An audience with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI in Rome is also on the schedule.
