Four Men Begin Postulancy Program with the Conventual Franciscans in Alajuela, Costa Rica

We often try to change our lives with the onset of a new year. In Alajuela, Costa Rica, four men did precisely this when on the third day of 2010, they began the Postulancy Program with the Order of Friars Minor Conventual. These men - David, Pablo, Ernesto, and Jose Luis - are all between 21 and 33 years of age. They have opened themselves up to God through prayer and dialogue. In the Postulancy Program they will live as Franciscans and eventually come to realize whether God is calling them to be friars or not. To hear what God is calling one to do takes time. Any sense of revelation about one's calling comes when it comes. There is no deadline for it. We simply have to be ready to act when that special change inside of us happens, when we know that God has spoken and pointed us in the right direction.
