Wedding 2.0!
November 22nd, 2009I had my second wedding yesterday at the Curley High school Chapel. I witnessed the marriage of my friend Mark and his wife Jaimie. It was a very nice ceremony if I do say so myself. I was nervous about leaving the friary for errands and something going wrong and being late, so I stayed in for the day and I did LOTS of cleaning (my room and my bathroom) and watched a lousy made for TV Saturday afternoon movie.
The ceremony was simple and I thought I gave a pretty good homily. Mark teaches art at Curley and Jaimie works with brides doing hair for weddings. Both have great eyes and are creative. I tied there story with Genesis’ 2nd creation account and the wedding at Cana.
After the ceremony, I joined the party at the reception. It was beautiful and they both come from such wonderful and welcoming families! May God keep blessing them both!

Fr. Matt,
I have been following your blog for a while now. I am a Curley alumni, class of 1993. I have many fond memories of the chapel at Curley and at one point looked into holding my own wedding there. When I inquired about using the chapel, Fr Martin told me that he thought that maybe the last person that was married there was Mr Frank (no idea if that were really true). I am glad to hear it has been used for wedding recently. Best wishes to the newly married couple. -Nick
