Hermanas Franciscanas y Monjas
Vowed religious life for women has a long history and tradition as part of the Franciscan Movement dating back to St. Clare of Assisi. The Poor Clare Sisters live by the Rule of St. Clare of 1253 and are a contemplative order of nuns dedicated to poverty and prayer. There are many orders of Franciscan sister communities working in thousand of ministries around the world.
Over the next few months, franciscan.org will be adding links to these communities and illumining the path to a consecrated life for women.
