199th General Chapter of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual

Assisi, Italy

The Conventual Franciscan Friars will be celebrating their 199th General Chapter at the Sacred Convent in Assisi, Italy from May 15 to June 20, 2007. The purpose of the General Chapter is for the Order to decide its course of action for the next six years, elect authorities for its offices of government, and make any other changes necessary to live in greater accordance to the Rule of 1223.

With 130 participants fulfilling different roles, the General Chapter allows friars from all around the world to meet and learn from one another and then bring their newfound knowledge back to their ministries. The General Chapter website has been set up by the Order of Friars Minor Conventual to provide in-depth information about the event, its history, participants, and general program.
