Friar Lavin Chaplains in Catholic High School

Friar Thomas Lavin is the chaplain for Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School, for the past three years. He ministers to over 1,250 coed students and is looking forward to an increase of enrollment in the next year. Father Thomas is present to listen to people and preach the Gospel. The major tenet of the school is based on serving one another, such as the Gospel says, “I came to serve; not to be served.” The school and Father Thomas encourage the students to do service hours in underprivileged elementary school. They participate in So Others May Eat, Assistance in Furniture and Clothing Distribution and African Palms. Apart from this students have an opportunity to attend Service Projects in Haiti, El Salvador, the Appalachians, and other locations. Friar Thomas looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the Seniors and welcoming the new and transferring students.
