"Homeless Jesus" Statue in Maryland
The Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City, Maryland displayed the “Homeless Jesus” in their retreat center from August 19th to September 8th. This statue is a visual representation of Matthew 25 and the call to serve Christ in the poorest of the poor. The statue that was displayed was a model of a bronze that is permanently placed at the parish of St. Vincent De Paul in downtown Baltimore. The model has been traveling through parishes in the Archdiocese the past year and the retreat center is very grateful to host it and draw the pilgrims attention to the plight of the poor. The statue was picked up from Sacred Heart of Mary parish in Dundalk and it is currently on route to the Catholic Community of Relay. The statue has truly been an inspiration for those who have come and prayed before it.
