Meet Our Student- Friar Andrew Hennessy
LORD, my heart is not proud; nor are my eyes haughty. I do not busy myself with great matters, with things too sublime for me. Rather, I have stilled my soul, Like a weaned child to its mother, weaned is my soul. Israel, hope in the LORD, now and forever.
Meet Friar Andrew Hennesey, 3rd year simple vows, in Our Lady of Consolation Province. Friar Andrew was born on the Feast Day of St. Clare, August 11th. He comes from Chesapeake, Ohio and is currently living at Mount St. Francis, Indiana. He ministers in the Soup Kitchen and helps in his parish by teaching Confirmation classes, helping the Hispanic Parish Ministry, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, Music Ministry, and Retreat Ministry, in these ministries he can use his talents of playing guitar and writing music. He exercises and watches soccer during his down time. Living in fraternity with his brother and serving the people of God is what Friar Andrew enjoys the most about the Franciscan life.
Friar Andrew's advice to those who are discerning their vocation is:
"Don't try and force it, let it happen naturally. Don't look for signs but be willing to recognize them. Be yourself, but be willing to change"
