Meet our Student- Friar Christopher Douglas Garcia

Meet our post-novitiate student from Saint Joseph of Cupertino Province, Friar Christopher Douglas Garcia. He is currently in the first year of his post novitiate studies in Silver Spring, MD. A Dana Point California native, Friar Christopher enjoys to hang out with his friends, read, photography, watching movies, and running. His current ministry is to be a tour guide at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. There are many things he enjoys about Franciscan life, but the greatest is living out the charism of community meeting people from various backgrounds with a common mission.

Friar Christopher's advice to those discerning is:

"I would say follow your heart. A vocation is personal. You do not need to follow your friend into religious life. You must say yes to God that this is what you want to do. When you say yes, then God will take care of you to make you realize you made the right call."
