Meet Our Student-Friar Angel Garcia

Meet Friar Angel Garcia from St. Joseph of Cupertino Province in California. Friar Angel was born on June 11 and raised in El Salvador but has been living in the US for many years now. He is currently in the post-novitiate program at San Damiano Friary in San Antonio. He is on his first year of theology at the Oblate School of Theology. Friar Angel enjoys photography, reading inspirational books, visiting art museums and parks. He ministers to the refugees from Central America at Posada Guadalupe by being a presence among the residents. Prayer, meditation mass, and the interaction among the community is what he loves about Franciscan life.

Friar Angel's advice to those discerning is:

To talk with your local pastor/parish priest, stay strong in prayer especially when it gets tough and you have concerns, the Holy Spirit will guide you in the process
